An Act Regarding the Collection and Recycling of Packaging
Maine's LD 1541 is the first packaging EPR law enacted in the United States. Producers of covered packaging must register with the state-approved Stewardship Organization, submit annual packaging data, and pay fees that fund municipal recycling programs across Maine.
